Ingredients Needed
This is a quick overview of the ingredients you’ll need for this Peppermint Bark Graham Cracker Recipe. Specific measurements and full recipe instructions are in the printable recipe card below.
- Chocolate – Use high quality chocolate chips, or chopped up chocolate bars! You can use milk chocolate, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate.
- White Chocolate – Use high quality white baking chips or a chopped chocolate bar. I like Lindt White Chocolate.
- Graham Crackers – Crack the Graham Cracker sheets in half, or buy the Fresh Stacks that are already broken in half.
- Peppermint Extract – Adds an extra mint flavor to the chocolate.
- Peppermint Candy Canes – Crushed up into small pieces, they add a nice finishing crunch, and extra minty flavor.
How to make Chocolate Peppermint Graham Crackers
Step 1: Melt the chocolate. Melt the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in 20 second increments until you can stir it smooth. You want to melt it slowly to avoid overheating the chocolate and ending up with spotty chocolate.
Step 2: Dip into the Chocolate. Dip one half of each graham cracker square into the melted chocolate, and place it onto parchment paper to set.
Step 3: Add the white chocolate. Melt the white chocolate and peppermint extract in a microwave safe bowl in 20 second increments until you can stir it smooth. Dip the other half of the graham crackers into the minty white chocolate. Place down on the parchment paper.
Step 4: Add the candy cane pieces. Sprinkle the crushed candy cane over the top of the bark candy. Let the candy sit until the chocolate is hardened.
Tips and Tricks
- Chocolate Graham Crackers – Instead of Honey Graham Crackers use Chocolate Graham Crackers for an extra chocolatey dessert.
- Crush the Candy Canes – Add the unwrapped candy canes to a plastic bag and use a meat mallet, or rolling pin to crush them into pieces.
- Melt Slowly – Be careful not to overheat the chocolate. Melt it in short intervals and stir a lot between each, getting it smooth without burning it. Chocolate that gets over heated will likely end up with white spots when it dries. If this does happen, its perfectly safe and still edible – it just might not look as pretty for sharing!
Storage Instructions
Once the chocolate is set, transfer the candy to an airtight container at room temperature, and store up to 5 days. If your house is warm store the candy in the fridge. You can also place layers of parchment paper between the candy to keep them nicer looking.
These Peppermint Bark Graham Crackers are such a fun, delicious, and festive treat that’s perfect for the holiday season! In just a few minutes of work, you can make these darling treats that are crunchy, rich, and so tasty!
