Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Balls

Take Little Debbie Christmas Trees to the next level to make the ultimate holiday treat! These Christmas Tree Cake Balls turn the nostalgic favorite into a delightful bite-sized treat. They're like the best cake balls, but even better, and so fun for the Christmas season!

Ingredients

  • 5 Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes
  • 8 oz Vanilla Candy Melts
  • 1 TBS green sanding sugar
  • 1/4 cup red candy melts

Instructions

  • Add the Christmas Tree Cakes to a large bowl and mix them with a hand mixer, or stand mixer until you have a soft cake mixture. 5 Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes
  • Scoop the dough into 2 teaspoon portions, and then roll them into balls, about 1-inch in size. Place them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
  • Chill the cake balls for 1 to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Add the Vanilla Candy Melts to a small bowl and microwave in 30 second increments until you can stir them smooth. 8 oz Vanilla Candy Melts
  • Drop one cake ball at a time into the melted chocolate. Cover and lift it out with a dork. Tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove the extra chocolate. Then gently let it slide off the fork back onto the parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle green sanding sugar over the top of the cake balls. 1 TBS green sanding sugar
  • Add the red candy melts to a small bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring well between each, until you can stir it smooth. 1/4 cup red candy melts
  • Scoop the red chocolate into a piping bag, or ziplock bag and snip off the corner. Drizzle the red chocolate over the truffles.
  • Place the pan into the fridge, and let the truffles set until fully hardened.

Notes

  • Double Dipping: For an extra thick coating, dip the balls a second time after the first layer sets and before decorating the tops.
  • Reheat the Chocolate: If the melted chocolate thickens as you work, reheat it for a few seconds until it is warm and smooth again.
  • Storage Instructions: Store the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. You can also freeze the cake balls for in a freezer safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw them in the fridge before enjoying.
