Ingredients

  • 12 oz milk chocolate chips
  • 4 oz semi sweet or dark chocolate baking chocolate (chopped)
  • 4 oz vanilla almond bark (or white chocolate chips, chopped)
  • 3 cups mixed nuts, salted
  • coarse sea salt (optional)

Instructions

How to make Chocolate Nut Clusters in a Microwave:

  • Add the chocolate chips, chocolate bar, and almond bark to a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stir as much as you can.
  • Microwave in 15 second increments, stirring after each as much as you can, letting the chocolate sit for a couple minutes to continue melting after each segment.
  • Once the chocolate is melted, add in the mixed nuts, and stir until they are completely coated in the chocolate.
  • Scoop the nut mixture using a medium cookie scoop, or a couple spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle coarse sea salt over the top of the clusters before the chocolate is set, if desired.
  • Let the clusters sit until the chocolate is set.

How to make Chocolate Nut Clusters on the Stove Top:

  • Prepare a double boiler by adding a couple inches of water to a medium sauce pan, and bringing it to boil over medium heat.
  • Place a glass bowl about the same size, over the top of the sauce pan (big enough to sit on top of the pan). The water shouldn't touch the bottom of the bowl.
  • add the chocolate to the glass bowl and stir it until the chocolate is melted. This might tight several minutes.
  • Add in the mixed nuts, and stir until they are completely coated in the chocolate.
  • Scoop the nut mixture using a medium cookie scoop, or a couple spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle coarse sea salt over the top of the clusters before the chocolate is set, if desired.
  • Let the clusters sit until the chocolate is set.

How to make Chocolate Nut Clusters in the Crockpot:

  • Add the nuts, then all the chocolate to a 1.5 to 3 Qt crock pot (if bigger, you will need to double or triple the recipe) .
  • Set the slow cooker to low, and cook for about 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until the chocolate is melted and can stir to coat the nuts.
  • Scoop the nut mixture using a medium cookie scoop, or a couple spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle coarse sea salt over the top of the clusters before the chocolate is set, if desired.
  • Let the clusters sit until the chocolate is set.
