How to make Peppermint Pretzels
Step 1: Melt the white chocolate. Add the white chocolate to a medium microwave safe bowl and microwave in 20 second increments. Stir after each increment until the white chocolate is smooth.
Step 2: Dip the pretzels in the white chocolate. Dip the pretzels into the melted chocolate, covering them about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up. Shake off any extra chocolate back into the bowl. Use a spoon to cover the pretzel if the bowl is not deep enough to dip the pretzels. Place the pretzels onto a piece of parchment paper.
Step 3: Decorate the pretzels. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in 20 second increments until you can stir it smooth. Scoop the chocolate into a ziplock bag and seal the bag, snip the corner off and drizzle the chocolate over the pretzels. Sprinkle crushed candy cane pieces over the top of the pretzels. Let them sit at room temperature until the chocolate is set.
Tips and Tricks
- Tall Glass – Melt the chocolate in a tall glass (make sure it is microwave safe) because it will be easier to dip the bars deeply into the white chocolate.
- Different Pretzels – Use pretzel sticks, miniature pretzels, or pretzel crisps for a different shape. Use a fork to remove the pretzels from the white chocolate and set them on the parchment.
- Cut the rods in Half – Split the pretzel rods in half to make twice as many pretzels, and have less extra pretzel that isn’t covered, for more optimum flavor.
- Extra Minty – Add a teaspoon peppermint extract to the white chocolate after microwaving for an extra minty flavor.
Storage Instructions
These peppermint bark pretzels can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. They shouldn’t be stored in the fridge because the candy cane pieces will get soft and sticky in the fridge.
These Peppermint Pretzels are such a great holiday inspired sweet and salty treat. They’re perfect for enjoying all season long!
