In reply to AM. It's such a small amount of butter, and salt, so you can omit it, or add it, it should be fine either way. (The salt in the butter would be around 1/16 tsp)

I haven’t tried that recipe, but maybe its something like this? https://www.5boysbaker.com/homemade-butter-mints-12-days-of-sugar-day-7/ (Many buttermint recipes aren’t cooked, but I found this one is…) Let me know if you try it.

I have a question growing up in Iowa. We had a recipe for mints. The recipe was cooked and then divided up and put in small bowels and stirred until it set
Then spooned onto wax paper.
Do you know of this recipe ? I have looked high and low for years
